Sony have confirmed today much to the delight of PSP owners, that they plan to release more Grand Theft Auto titles onto the handheld console.
It comes as everyone is currently in GTA mode following the release of The Lost and Damned DLC package onto the Xbox 360. The Nintendo DS is also about to get their GTA fix as GTA: Chinatown Wars is scheduled to be released on the 20th March in the EU.
As reported from Eurogamer, Sony Exec John Koller was interested to see how well the GTA game on the DS sells considering most of Nintendo’s games are aged at young audiences. He stated: ”It’s an interesting launch on DS. It raises some eyebrows in a lot of areas. It’ll be interesting to see how that sells. ”
Meanwhile, on the PSP announcement, he said: ”No one should sleep on that franchise. That’s a tremendous franchise for PlayStation in general. We’ve had two that are the top two sellers on PSP right now. So, there’s definitely continued conversations with Rockstar on all their brands. That’s nothing that’s left the PlayStation family. ”
So thats confirmed guys, more GTA on the way to PSP in the future. Good times.
