Apple PowerBook Explosion: Flames flying six feet in the air
By: Peter Chubb | March 2, 2009 | Leave a CommentStaff of a marketing company in London was left shocked and a bit shaken yesterday after an Apple PowerBook decided that it had had enough and decided to burst into flames. The flames burst six feet in the air, and the area was then completely covered in smoke.
The London based marketing company has asked not to be identified, but the IT manager has been talking to The Inquirer about the incident. He said that when he approached the scene there was not much smoke left, it was when he picked up the Apple PowerBook and turned it over and then place it down was when the computer decided to explode, sending flames six feet in the air.
He then decided to get the fire extinguisher and put the fire out, which was when the PowerBook exploded. The Apple PowerBook was at least three-to-four years old; it seems that this could be one of the faulty batterers that should have been recalled a few years back.
