PC users have recently seen the release of Dawn of War II which is a real-time strategy video game, Xbox 360 users will have to wait a few more days until they can get their hands on Halo Wars, this is also a real-time strategy video game. Both are good in their own way and PC and Xbox 360 users are going to argue the point as to which game is better.
Halo Wars is developed by Ensemble Studios and is set in the Halo universe, 20 years before the first game, which was launched in 2001. Players will manage resources as well as create and maintain armies and buildings. There are two factions that are playable; these are the human UNSC and alien Covenant, both of which have their own units.
Players will build up their armies and buildings, as well as upgrade their resources in the hope of becoming victories. Each map only has a few base locations; this makes base fortification and defense a key priority.
Dawn of War II has been developed by Relic Entertainment and published by THQ. The game is the sequel to Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. The gameplay of this new version of the game is very different to the first one. The game focuses heavily on cover; this gives you more defensive bonuses.
Dawn of War II also has a huge emphasis on methods of dealing with units in cover, be careful though, as grenades and other explosives can destroy cover. The new game also offers more realistically sized vehicles; the game engine has also been approved.
