
Pioneer Kuro line of TVs: The End

This was a true tipping point in the TV industry. As it shows, that Plasma TV’s is a dying market, thanks to a global recession as well as the popularity of LCD.
Pioneer Corp (6773.T), has said that they will now concentrate their business on the car and audio/visual systems market. This shows how quickly things can change in the consumer electronics market. Just one year ago, Pioneer had CES buzzing with the launch of their new Ultimate Black Kuro TV.
The new TV was very impressive, in the way that it reduced light emissions from black areas of the screen, when the brightness was set to maximum; the contrast level was almost infinite. The Pioneer Kuro Plasma TV offered a picture with the most vibrant colors.
