Limited Edition Xbox 360: Resident Evil or just Red?
By: Alan Ng | February 24, 2009 | Leave a CommentThere has been a mixture of excitement and disappointment following Capcom and Microsoft’s announcement on their new ‘Limited Edition Resident Evil Xbox 360 Elite console’. That is what they are calling it, but pictures of the console suggest that it is just a paint of red with no ‘real’ Resident Evil styled theme to it.
The console is due to ship on the 13th March in Europe and North America along with the release of the game. We are inclined to agree with the fans on this one as to the design of the Limited Edition console. If Microsoft and Capcom ‘really’ wanted to tempt and persuade fans to part with their $300, surely they could of put a bit more effort into the console design.
Suggestions could include an Umbrella corps logo of some sort, or splashes of blood mixing together with two colour styles. By just covering the whole console Red and calling it a Resident Evil Limited Edition console, seems to suggest that it was a quick-fire job by Capcom and Microsoft.
What do you guys think of the design? Do you think Microsoft and Capcom could of spent a little more thought on the ‘Resident Evil’ theme?
