iPhone service cost drop: why it won’t happen
By: Peter Chubb | February 24, 2009 | Leave a CommentThere have been a number of rumors doing the rounds about a predicted price drop for the iPhone service costs. While AT&T users start to get excited about the fact of an expected price drop, there are those out there who do not believe that the price drop will even happen.
David Coursey from PCWorld.com disagrees with these rumors and has decided to explain why he thinks that there will be no price reduction for the iPhone service costs. His first point is a valid one, we all know that iPhone plays a pivotal role when it comes to determining AT&Ts pricing for the iPhone’s service costs, and Apple have never been known to reduce their prices, unless it is part of a technology cycle.
Coursey goes on to say that the iPhone is considered the preeminent handset, so why would Apple and AT&T feel the need to reduce service costs. He does add that the high price of the iPhone’s service cost is a reason why a number of people choose not to purchase an iPhone, but a large price reduction is not what Apple will be offering.
