By: Alan Ng | February 24, 2009 | 1 CommentCapcom have just announced that the recently released demo for Resident Evil 5 has reached the 5 million download mark worldwide on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
Reported from Gamesindustry.biz, the news came from Capcom’s Jun Takeuchi as he revealed the figures in an interview with MTV Multiplayer. He said that the demo had performed ‘exceedingly well’ and also commented on the much hyped ‘race debate’ that has been overshadowing the game.
Mr Takeuchi explained, “When the game is out to the mainstream and on the shelves and being played by users, I’m not expecting it to be a problem,” he explained, adding: “People will be able to play the game and see what it is for themselves. ”
Well whatever the issues surrounding Resident Evil 5 are at the moment and all the negativity towards it, judging by these figures it looks as if there is a good bunch of you who are still pumped up for this game. Resident Evil is due to hit stores on the 13th March in Europe and North America.
