Do you pay for Xbox Live? 50% of Users Dont

A recent internal Microsoft document reviewed by the Seattle P-I has revealed that only half of Xbox 360 owners pay for a subscription to play games online.

While Microsoft are often reporting successes with their Xbox Live figures, this report which can be read here explains that only half use Microsoft’s Gold subcription service, leaving the remaining 50% on the free Silver package.

While the Silver package allows you to chat to other gamers and purchase downloadable content, it is the Gold subscription package that will only allow you to play online with others.

This recent report could be slightly embarassing for Microsoft, what do you think? Check out the full article in the link above.

Typical of this Sony fanboy blog to spin this news like this. 50% is a brilliant number considering how many users there are, and how the lose money on their online services.
