Microsoft has acknowledged the problem involving Xbox 360 GamerTags and is currently working on a solution to fix the problem. The issue has caused gamers to have problems when trying to renew their Gold membership on the Xbox Live service.

As reported from GamesIndustry.biz, Xbox 360 owners had been worrying that this problem would cause them to lose all of their achievement points gained over the last few years, but Microsoft has said they are aiming to allow gamers to ‘link their Gamertags to new Windows Live IDs’.

I was worried about my achievement points, and this problem should have been sorted out before it even occured, as we actually pay a premium for this service (xbox live) where as PS3 owners don’t have to even pay for their online gaming. Typical microsoft

When is this issue supposed to be fixed? Here it is, months later and still nothing. I have lost a lot of money on downloaded content because of this. Plus the guy at tech support told me to delete my gamertag and try to retrieve it which really screwed me, because at least I could still access my content as long as I was signed in. Now I have NOTHING!!!

My son’s jacked earlier in the day. I was checking my bank acount and 2 subscriptions had be purchased for XBOX gold. I called XBOX and told them what had happened. They said they “locked my account and froze my card number”. Today I get a “congradulation Rusty for renewing you gold account”. Problem is at the same time I received 2 other emails congradulating “The Jefferson” and “*#**?” for their new accounts. My account has 3 deductions from MS XBOX for like 62.00 per account. Someone has hacked them bad. Prob someone in their own IT department. Everytime they try to fix it the hackers already have it figured out. All I know is I want a part of the lawsuit just around the corner. Rusty
