Street Fighter IV: What Character would you like to see added?

We dont like to seem greedy here at PR, but following a recent announcement from SF IV Yoshinori Ono about the possibility of adding further characters to the already excellent roster and so we thought we would ask you ‘the fans’ which character you would like to see added to the game.

In a recent report by Kotaku, Mr Ono hinted that they could add the characters T-Hawk and Deejay to the game if there was enough demand by it by fans. He explained, ””Honestly, we did the modelling up to the pre-texturing. We made the fight settings for T. Hawk in Street Fighter IV. If users make their voices known, this prep work is something we can revive at any time.”

Im pretty sure his comments are going to start a huge petition over the web to get these characters added at some point. Well, I myself wouldnt mind Deejay added but there are plenty of other mouth-watering fighters available to choose from.

Who would you like to see added to the roster? I will start the ball rolling by suggesting a few names into the hat..Charlie Nash and the awesome Eagle from SF Alpha 3.

I’m one of the rare fighters that loves Dee Jay, and I’m totally bumbed that he’s not included in the present roster. I’d be ecstatic if he were added.

Guy and Eagle would be my next two picks. I loved using Eagle in Capcom v. SNK 2. He’s a unique fighter that I think would fit well in SFIV. As for Guy, back in the Alpha series, he was literally the only fighter I used. I loved his move set and his unmatched jumping capabilities. I was tough to beat when I used him.

  2. Alan says:

Yeah, Guy is a great choice I agree..not sure we’ll be seeing him in there though anytime soon

    1) T. Hawk and Dee Jay. Really. They’re part of that legend called SF2. And Dee Jay is a western kickboxer… he’d look so cool with this game’s graphics.

    2) Someone from SFAlpha. My favourite character in the SF series is Rolento (for his original fighting style), and I’d like to see Cody too. And Eagle. And R. Mika (come on, with this graphic engine, she’s a must have! :P ). And Adon. Actually Street Fighter Alpha 3 Double Upper has not only the biggest, but actually the best roster in the series. So, taking many more characters from there wouldn’t hurt a bit. Even if they’re characters that originally appeared in Final Fight. Why can SNK power up its KoF with guys from AoF and Fatal Fury, and CAPCOM forces itself to keep out some great icons like Guy and Cody? Hugo (Andore) is in SF3 anyway, so I don’t see the point.

    3) From SF3 I’d pick Yun & Yang (love them), Elena (Capoeira ftw!), Makoto, Ibuki. I like SFAlpha characters more than the SF3 characters, generally. But there many good characters here too: Dudley, Hugo, etc… Here too, the more the merrier.

    4) It would be cool to have at least another character promoted from SF1. Retsu has such a cool backstory, and has ties with many characters (Gouken, Ryu, Dan… maybe Gen?). Geki wouldn’t hurt, either…

    5) A new Tae Kwon Doo (maybe female) South Korean fighter! :D What’s wrong with CAPCOM being the only ones who ignore the beauty of Tae Kwon Doo? :P

  4. Bert says:

Charlie has always been one of my favorites. For some reason, it feels like Guile is just a demoted version of him.

The roster could use a couple of extra female characters as well. There are plenty to choose from, but I’d love to see Elena’s moves in those new graphics.

  5. Nathaniel says:

All of the street fighter caharacter ever made in one game now that would be cool so that thay wouldn’t have to asks me this crazy question

  6. ben says:

Guile is a demoted version of Charlie, being that Chuck is the one who trained guile in fighting. Guiile was never able to master charlies style.

as for characters being added, we know t.Hawk and DeeJay are coming, Ibuki has also all but been confirmed, based on her pseudo appearances in many of the characters story videos. Yun and Yang also appeared so we may see them as well. and rumor has it R. Mika was originally in the game as well, and was changed to El Fuerte for some odd reason. their move set is pretty similar if you look at it. but dont get your hopes up for alot of other characters, the final fight guys, guy most of the alpha characters, probably wont appear. it would take way too long and way too much money to make all these characters for the engine. personally ill take what i can get. backgrounds have also been confirmed.

My choices would be these four…
    T. Hawk + Dee Jay – this would complete the SSFII Turbo lineup and i think Dee Jay especially would make a really valuable addition and T. Hawk would give us another much needed 360 character.

As i’m assuming (hoping) four new characters would be released – my other choices would be probably Adon as we need another flawed character much like dan for beating noobs with. last choice – Eagle or Rolento or Birdie or Guy I think.

Please do this Capcom… please please please, bring out one or two every eight months or so.

  8. virgil says:

    well so far we got
Dee Jay,T.hawk,Juri,Adon,Guy and cody as of November 2009

    but what about characters like
D.D.,Rook and Ingrid from Capcom fighting all-stars ?
what happened to Charlie Nash ? and that new guy Hakan ?

1.R.mika: she needs to be there
    2.Karin: she would rival Sakura
    3.Batsu or Kyosuke
4.birdie and hugo: battle of the giants
5.Oro: he would give gouken a run for his money
    6.Q/rolento/sodom: a plotwist/conspiracy
    7.Yun & Yang

but people like Sean and Elena should just have cameos.
