Retailer Zavvi set to say goodbye - for good

It is the news that many feared would happen - retailer Zavvi is to close it’s doors for good after an announcement by Ernst & Young.

All remaining stores will close by the 20th February, resulting in 446 employees losing their jobs. The company now follows the same path as Woolworths as no buyer was able to rescue the company. Tom Jack, who was a joint administrator overseeing this process stated, “I would like to thank all of Zavvi’s staff and customers for their commitment and continued support for the business throughout the administration.”

So, it’s quite a sad end to another once popular high street retail store and also a worrying trend that is occuring at the moment. Let us know your thoughts on Zavvi’s closure.
