
Nintendo DS dominated Japanese market in 2008
By: Alan Ng | February 17, 2009 | Leave a CommentFresh figures from Famitsu highlighting the top 100 best-selling games in Japan for 2008 has concluded with Nintendo DS sales making up 51 per cent of the region’s market.
As reported over at GamesIndustry.biz, The Nintendo DS dominated the top 100 listings which saw 47 titles occupy the chart, accounting for 51.6 per cent of the market which is an increase of 8.8 per cent from back in 2007.
Out of the 3 next-gen consoles, the Nintendo Wii again came out on top with 15 titles in the charts, the biggest selling being Wii-Fit. Looks like there is no stopping Nintendo as far as the Japanese market is concerned. Check out the full details in the link above.
