Virtua Tennis 2009 on the way to the Nintendo Wii

Its official folks, Sega has just confirmed that a Wii version of Virtua Tennis 2009 is on the way. The details came in a fresh press release from the company which gives also gives out some details for the new game.

You can check out the press release here. The game will be released sometime in May 2009 and it is rumoured that the new Virtua Tennis game will be one of the first titles to support Nintendo’s new Wii MotionPlus technology which will allow the Wii Remote to capture motion more accurately.

Virtua Tennis 2009 will feature the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Maria Sharapova and Venus Williams. You’ll get the opportunity to slug it out in 40 colourful environments, while the online and offline modes are set to make this one of the best titles in the franchise yet.
