We all know the Xbox 360 and the Sony PS3 have had their fair share of problems over the last 6 months. The Xbox 360 console is still being plagued by RROD problems, while a lot of people have been reporting about disc errors with the PS3. Given all the problems that gamers have had, has this caused any of you to switch between the two consoles?
Many Xbox 360 owners had thought that recent RROD problems were in the past and that they could finally enjoy some problem-free gaming, but after a recent Xbox 360 update, many have reported fresh problems with their console, resulting in frantic searches to find out whether their console was still under warranty or not.
The PS3 has also encountered some disc read errors since the 2.60 update, with users stating that their console would simply not read any discs after the update, leading to them having to contact Sony for repair information etc.
With the problems between the two consoles, have any of you given up hope with all the errors and issues and decided to switch consoles respectively? Let us know your opinions on this, there is also a poll on this topic here, where you can take part in if you wish.

Huh. weird. I never had a disc read error, and even though I keep up to date on the news including PS3 news, I never even heard of any disc errors before this article.
Thats because the disc-read error is nowhere near as widespread as the RROD, in fact, I don’t even see the relevance of it when compared to the HUGE issue Microsoft has had with their defective consoles. I had a PS3 first, and then I bought an Xbox 360, but I didn’t “switch” because I play both of them about the same, whether it be gaming or watching blurays and netflix. Both systems rock, Microsoft just needs to start manufacturing some quality consoles.
i believe that the ps3 is still under the .02% fail-rate. which the 360 has a %33 chance it will fail. that’s unacceptable. plus ps3 has a blu-ray player so games are able to hold way more content. what pisses me off about the ps3 is that when they port a game to the ps3, it’s usually shit. so now they are having teams design games for each console. i bet Killzone 2 will be a system seller. 360 is still a awesome console, but would be in the #2 spot in my book.

Well I have both I never had problems with my ps3 but rarely play it either. My 2nd 360 now has disk tray problems it wont eject. Im not even going to bother fixing or getting another 360. I’ll just stick with my ps3. The 360 is a lemon the ford pinto of the console world lol.
I’ve gone through 3 Xbox 360: First one had graphical issues pixels started popping up in Gears of war, my 2nd Xbox360 gave me the RRoD and my third one had an issue with my tv causing surges; with the surge issue I called Xbox and was given absolutely no help and the individual on the phone that would not listen to me -they just wanted to fill out their form. Having to go through 3 Xbox360s caused me to go back to my tried and true Sony and I traded everything in for a PS3. I mean my ps2 had never caused me problems and still works to this day. I’ve been absolutely happy with my PS3 it has all the “bells and whistles” and in the end it plan old just works! (the fun part was with all the Xbox stuff I traded in the ps3 cost me $50 -glade I got rid of that “HD-DVD” player lol) This is all completely true I’m not just a fan boy.
My xbox 360 elite recently got the dreaded rrod and UPS picked it no fuss all free of charge but it’ll be away a month so decided to dust off the ps3 and have actually spent some time getting used to all the features, absolutely love it now but will probably spend the majority of my time back on xbox live when i get the elite back, ps network not nearly as good, shame.
