New Rubik’s Cube: The 360 Puzzle Ball

The Rubik’s Cube was one of the most amazing gadgets when it launched with massive success in 1980 and as of this year, the Rubik’s Cube has sold more than 350 million cubes around the world.

Its success has repeated over and over with new versions. The first had stickers and could be cheated, but in 2009 there will be a new version called the Rubik’s 360.

This new Rubik’s Cube is more like a puzzle ball, hence the name 360. It has no stickers and you have to get the colored balls from an inner sphere to the matching slots on the outer sphere. You do this by shaking them through two holes in a middle sphere.

This new version will be a frustrating challenge for many but will it catch on? Hit the read link for more information or vote in this poll telling us how fast you cracked the original Rubik’s Cube. You can also see a video here showing how to solve a rubik’s cube really fast.

Yes I think it will catch on. With a retail price of around $15 and launched well before the xmas season, its got the opportunity to become a big hit. Its simple enough to understand for all ages and it looks like plenty of marketing dollars are being put behind the launch. I am traciking the latest Rubik’s 360 news on my blog if you want more info.
