Google cell phone tracker with Latitude
By: Daniel Chubb | February 5, 2009 | 3 CommentsThanks to a new feature called “Google Latitude”, cell phone users that have phones compatible with Google Maps for mobile can now track consenting family and friends.
By using a GPS cell phone tracker and Latitude a user could find their friend in a neighbourhood, at a conference or even better at a crowded event where it could be almost impossible to find them.
While privacy experts are obviously warning about the implications, we cannot help but be impressed at how useful this technology could be to millions of people wanting to keep in contact and find each other willingly.
The Google Latitude software program became available on Wednesday in around 27 countries. You can watch a video here to find out more about it.
