Palm Pre vs Apple iPhone: Touchscreen interface and patent’s

If there is one cell phone that everyone is talking about right now, it’s the Palm Pre. This is big news because Palm has not exactly been a big player in the mobile phone market until now.

Their new Palm Pre looks like a good phone will cool features but the problem comes with its release date. One reason that the date may not be clear is to do with its touchscreen interface behavior and Apple’s iPhone.

Now that Apple has its Multi-Touch patent you would think that it’s clear what other brands can and cannot do…only if it were that simple.

When the Palm Pre is finally released it will be interesting to see if it comes in the form we have seen at CES and released with the interface intact. If so then this could be the beginning of a patent infringement claim by Apple.
