Sony PS3 Firmware 3.0 and 4282 Voters

The EU.PS3 Blog has published the results of a poll they did about Sony PS3 Firmware 3.0 and what features or changes are needed. The results are in from 4282 unique voters.
The fourth most wanted feature in the next firmware update was a larger selection of video formats and codec’s supported. The third most wanted was more support for developers to include in-game music from the XMB.
In second place was private voice chat accessed via the XMB in-game and the most wanted feature was full software backwards compatibility for PS1 and PS2 games. You can see the full results over on EU.PS3 Blog.

i think that when you get a message notification saying you have a message or invite when you are playing a game, you are able to press the ps button and it will automatically take you to the notification. Also i think that you should be able to create 3D avatars like on xbox.
Sony needs to quit releasing firmware updates that focus on improving gaming features only. There are many people who don’t use their PS3 at all for games because they know that a PC is the best way for gaming. The main reason I have my limited edition launch PS3 is to play x264 ac3 encoded tv eps and films using the PS3’s AVC codec….. cuz any damn disc whatsoever whether it be dvd cd or bluray i dont really need
