Sony PS3 2.60 Firmware Update Details

It looks like Sony PS3 owners can get ready for another update full of new treats. In the morning the PS3 2.60 firmware update will launch and with it will come more system media capabilities, which is the main reason for this update.

The main features include a new Photo Gallery application that will deliver new tools for displaying and sorting through your photo collection. This new ability will enhance the way you organize your digital photos on the Playstation 3.

You can use the new suite of photo tools to organize the pictures by various criteria, including facial expressions of the people pictured, ages, colors in the photos, the event date and time, camera used to take the photos and more. This Photo Gallery application can be installed via the XMB after you have the new firmware.

Other features in the PS3’s 2.60 firmware include: DivX 3.11 support and Guest access to PlayStation Store. We do not know what time the update will be released tomorrow at the time of writing.
