There have been a number of performance test with Microsoft’s latest operating system offering, Windows 7 Beta. The most common comparison has to be with Windows Vista SP1, the current OS. The latest test is from TweakTown, they have decided to run both of the operating systems on an SSD to see what the performance advantages are.
When you use Windows 7 Beta on the latest storage technology, you just know that things will perform well. It is very hard to come up with a conclusive test as this is just a beta version of the next OS from Microsoft, but at least we can get inkling in to what we can expect.
Access time is very impressive when using Windows 7 beta on an SSD, and the CPU does not work as hard on W7 as it does with Vista. There is one thing that is evident with this test; your system will not work half as much as it does with your current Windows Vista system.
