Sony PlayStation Phone: Not coming from Ericsson

Sony Ericsson has said that the mobile technology that is available today will not do the PlayStation brand any justice. News has come to light that Sony does not wish to share the license with their handset partner Ericsson, unless build quality on their handsets were up to first-party standards.

There had been plans for Sony to allow their PlayStation brand on to handsets, much like they do with their Cyber-shot technology. The lack of Sony support has now made the two companies fallout, so looks like we will not be seeing a PlayStation phone any time soon.

A Sony Ericsson spokesperson said that the technical specs are not high enough for their prestigious PlayStation brand to be used on a phone. This latest news further adds to the tension buildup with Sony Ericsson, could we see them parting company?
