Microsoft To Keep Xbox 360 Longer: consumers won’t upgrade

For those of you who were hoping that Microsoft would start to tease us with news of the next Xbox, the 720, then you will not be happy with what Microsoft had to say. The next Xbox will not be around anytime soon, according to what President Robbie Bach had to say.

Bach said that they would be sticking with the Xbox 360 longer than they did with the original, he said, “it’s getting harder to persuade consumers to upgrade.” He also added that it would be a tough job to convince consumers to upgrade.

Bach said that coming up with a new games console that is faster and prettier will not be sufficient. He added that the life cycle of these new consoles, not only the Xbox 360 but also the Sony PS3 and the Nintendo would be going longer than their previous models.
