BlackBerry 8900 on AT&T
By: Peter Chubb | January 13, 2009 | Leave a CommentT-Mobile announced last week that they were to launch the BlackBerry Curve 8900 in February; it now looks as though AT&T want to get some of the 8900 action as well. This is the first high-profile Blackberry release for 2009, and looks set to become a popular one with two big U.S. carriers backing the handset.
As with most BlackBerry’s they always seem to take on a nickname, the Curve 8900 is also known as the Javelin. The Boy Genius Report has said that Research In Motion was showing an AT&T branded Curve 8900 in its booth at 2009 CES, this stopped those rumors in their tracks that T-Mobile was to be the only carrier with the new RIM handset.
At least T-Mobile will have a head-start, as rumors say that they will be launching the new phone first, but AT&T will not be that far behind with their release. RIM say that the Curve 8900 is the thinnest and lightest BlackBerry to feature a full QWERTY keyboard, at just over half an inch thick.
