Tesla Motors Inc. offers up more powerful Roadster Sport
By: Peter Chubb | January 12, 2009 | Leave a CommentIf you thought the standard Tesla Roadster was fast, then you will be shocked to learn that Tesla Motors Inc. has launched the Roadster Sport, which is more powerful. The new model does 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds, compared to 3.9 for the standard Roadster.
The new car with its adjustable dampers, anti-roll bars and improved suspension can be tuned to the driver’s preference. The new Tesla Roadster has a starting price of $128,500 in the U.S. and €112,000 in Europe plus VAT. The new car will be available from late June.
Tesla has delivered over 150 Roadsters to customers; there are 1,100 customers on the waiting list. Those who have not yet taken delivery of their vehicle may choose to upgrade to the Roadster Sport. Tesla plan to produce an all-electric emission Model S five-passenger sedan, this zero-emission vehicle should go in sale in 2011.
