Crackberry has just posted information on how to get the unofficial BlackBerry Storm 4.7.0.86 firmware for 9530, and if you weren’t happy with version 4.7.0.85 then you can have another go with OS4.7.0.86.

We’re not sure on what changes have been made to the new OS, but keep an eye on the comments below to see what’s changed and if you have used it yourself then please share any changes you have noticed.

You may want to take note that this is NOT the official release, and if you decide to install then its at your own risk. If your unsure then we recommend you do not install it.

Has anyone installed this yet? If so do you know if it fixes the following:

    1. Slow to wake after being locked.
    2. Accelerometer gets stuck in landscape after being woken.
    3. Predictive text not staying off.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Mark says:

RIM SHOULD have waited with the Storm… they SHOULD’VE pulled what they did with the AT&T BOLD

  3. Preston says:

I have not installed 4.7.0.86, but I have installed 4.7.0.85, which appears to have fixed the the predictive text issue. The keypad was completely unuseable unless in landscape prior to this.

Preston - That’s good to know, predictive text switching on all the time has been driving me nuts. Now if only the phone would take less than a minute to unlock and not get stuck un landscape it would be a great phone.
