This is the Livescribe Pulse Smart Pen, which comes in a couple of different versions that include a 1GB and 2GB model. The Livescribe Pulse Smart Pen wants to be your partner in the conference room, lecture hall or even for those that love a cool gadget.
The pen will entirely record sound and your hand written notes thanks to the built-in infrared camera and computer. These notes can then be read later on thanks to the Livescribe Desktop software, which comes with the device.
Once you have the notes and audio files of the notes, these can easily be shared via email, Facebook or the Livescribe Community. Check out the video below showing you some close-ups of the Livescribe Pulse Smart Pen, then let us know what you think.

I recently found a 5% off code for the pens so I thought Id share. Use PULSE5A08 at the livescribe site. It should work for 2009.
So, I had gotten this pen for school and used it all last semester. It was very useful for note-taking classes, but also for work and discussion classes. It helped a lot when trying to remember what the professor said she wanted in our essays in my Lit class- esp. since she never actually put the specifics out there on paper. Anyhow, its an awesome pen, runs on ink - but they give you 3 refills and after 6 months, im still on my first. Yea, the pen is really durable too as Ive dropped it a lot but it still works fine. Also, I recently bought a MAC, so I am really happy it is MAC compatible. Works seamlessly for the most part.
i had this pen for almost a year now and it does help with understanding tough material and the order of material. Don’t sit too far away from the professor, third row is still good. back row will recieve a lot of static noise. other downside is to remember to charge it. it has run out of batteries while in lecture. guess thats really my fault. also carry with you a extra ink cartrage on you. they run out of in with in a span of a couple words. although the cartrages last for a good while. good for med students (which i am) and lawyers (cousins). i have had mixed feelings from professors about the use of this pen in there classes. some say no some say its ok.
