Hands on: Koolu Android custom-loaded FreeRunner
By: Peter Chubb | January 12, 2009
The new Koolu, custom-loaded FreeRunner is not just running Google Android it is running Cupcake. With that in mind, every G1 owner must be feeling a little jealous by now. There are a few cons to this handset though.
The new phone does not have a physical keyboard, which is needed for Cupcakes as you will want to type things. The Koolu FreeRunner also lacks 3G; this means that for the everyday user, you will not want to use this phone.
This is a shame as it is running Google Android and you are not able to make full use of it. Do not let that put you off too much, and we can clearly see that the right hardware and software are now out there, this makes it easier for hackers to do their stuff.
