CDMA Palm Treo receives FCC approval ahead of Pre
By: Peter Chubb | January 12, 2009 | Leave a CommentA Palm handset has just been given FCC approval, and the guys at Engadget Mobile assumed that is was for the upcoming Palm Pre. Upon closer inspection, the approval was for a CDMA version of the Palm Treo, which is rumored to be heading to Sprint.
Not too sure why Palm kept the CDMA Treo a secret, they should have announced at the same time as they did the Palm Pre, at CES 2009. Maybe Palm was worried that the announcment of the CDMA version would have been eclipsed by the Pre announcement.
Maybe today or in the next few days Palm will decide to officially announce the new version of the Treo. In the mean time, maybe we should just keep reading about the new Palm pre, not the best looking handset in the world, but it does have some great features.
