
Windows 7 Public Beta: Download today
By: Peter Chubb | January 9, 2009 | Leave a CommentSteve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO gave his keynote at CES 2009 yesterday, and he announced that Windows 7 beta release will be available to the public on Friday, January 9. First impressions have been great so far, and already seem better than Vista. Windows 7 Public Beta is ready for download today.
Washingtonpost.com have already been putting Windows 7 Beta operating system through its paces, they understand that there will be some minor issues with performance and glitches , but in time Microsoft will work at fixing them.
If you are not a fan of Aero, then you are not going to like this new OS. Windows 7 has a glassy look, glassier than Vista, but the glassy Taskbar makes it easier to view your apps by using a cool looking icon. The system tray has been revamped, but is still unhelpful as previous version.
