Yesterday SanDisk announced that they will be dropping the price of their Solid-State Drives for laptops. The company said that these new prices will make these SSDs a more affordable option for businesses. The G3 Series are SanDisk’s third generation of SSDs, and was unveiled at CES 2009.
Most SSDs that are used in netbooks and notebooks are low- capacity, these latest SSDs now have enough capacity as well as a low price to make them a better alternative to the traditional hard-disk drive that are used in notebooks.
SanDisk will launch the C25-G3 which is a 2.5-inch model, the other is the C18-G3, this is the 1.8-inch version. Both of these SSDs are designed to slot straight into a laptop. Both the C25-G3 and C18-G3 are available in 60 GB, 120 GB and 240 GB, the prices are $149, $249 and $499, respectively.
