Microsoft Windows 7 Beta Fixed: Download fix for MP3 corruption
By: Peter Chubb | January 9, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe are all aware that the Windows 7 Beta was made available today as a free download, but Microsoft had warned us a few days ago about a serious MP3 corruption issue. The software giant has been working hard on a fix, and there is one now ready to download.
It does not matter where you downloaded your Windows 7 Beta, you should still download the install patch. Microsoft says that the patch will resolve a number of issues; these include live and recorded TV issues in the Windows Media Center, MP3 file corruption issues, and recorded TV playback issues. Once you have installed the patch, you will need to restart your computer.
It is nice to see that Microsoft did not stop at fixing the MP3 corruption issue; it seems that they want the Windows 7 beta to run as smoothly as possible. This has to be the most serious bug on the new operating system.
