It seems there has been a surprise software release from Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) in the way of Google Chrome 2.0 and the download is ready right now for everyone to update their favorite web browser.
This version has been released to developers today, which is pretty impressive considering Chrome was only launched last September and recently brought out of beta. This latest version has some nice enhancements that include features you get as standard in rival web browsers.
The new features in Google Chrome 2 include full-page zoom, form autocomplete and browser profiles. The last is one of our favorites because it lets different users choose different browsing history, bookmarks and home pages.
If you’re a work user then you could have a different profile for work and home or if you are an advanced user then you can customize Google Chrome with your own scripts thanks to GreaseMonkey.
If you want to get your hands on this latest release then you need to download Chrome Channel Changer and select the Developer Preview Channel. The download might start automatically but if it doesn’t then just go to the browser’s tools menu and click About Google Chrome to force the browser to update.
