There have been a number of rumors about the new VAIO P Series Lifestyle PC, as well as leaked photos, but Sony have finally unveiled the Ultra-Wide Ultra-Portable at CES 2009. This small notebook uses the 1.33GHz Intel Atom processor, which is made for netbooks, but Sony is adamant that the small computer is not a netbook.
The Sony VAIO P Series notebook comes with 2GB of RAM, which is the maximum that it can handle. The storage device is a 128GB SSD (Solid State Drive); this should make it run fast. Trusted reviews have been taking a closer look at the new device; they wonder why Sony decided to run Windows Vista on the VAIO P. They could clearly see that the notebook was struggling; they feel that it would be better running on XP.
There is to be four colors to choose from, black, green, red and white, all will have a silver keyboard. Not too sure about the trackpad though, as it sits on the edge of the chassis. The Sony VAIO P Series Ultra-Wide Ultra-Portable notebook will be available in the US in February; the price will be around $900.
