Sony PS3 PR team hit back at Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Nintendo’s Wii

The sales results are what really count when it comes to the success of each next-generation console, although the Sony PS3 PR team are hitting back at Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Nintendo’s Wii after what most people see as a brutal beating the Playstation 3 has taken of late.

Sony has a plan and many gamers cannot see this, it’s true that Sony has lost a lot of money on the sale of PS3’s but why would they do this unless they are sure they will make money in other ways (Blu-ray being one of them).

One of the latest press releases from Sony was titled “Keeping Gaming and Entertainment Simple” and it focused on the out-of-the-box features the PS3 has like the future-proof system via firmware updates and hardware specs.

They go on to say that the Xbox 360 is a burden on the wallet by requiring additional money, multiple upgrades, and additional external devices that make it a cluttered entertainment center. Hit the read link below to see more from this press release.

What do you make from this hit back by Sony and do you see the 360 as a burden on the wallet?

  1. Mark says:

    Xbox 360:
no built-in wifi, need the £60 adapter
no batteries in the handset, need to buy the rechargeable module (unless you have shares in eveready)
    live is an extra-cost option
no hmdi unless you buy the elite version
base model won’t do video downloads that the adverts microsoft are running tout as a big feature

All the above features come gratis with the ps3

Get an xbox 360 and you are probably going to double your initial investment before you can actually do much. But then I get the impression that ms regard the xbox as an income stream rather than a product.
