Microsoft’s CEO, Steve Ballmer, has delivered his first keynote at CES 2009, and the big announcement was all about Windows 7. Ballmer said that Windows 7 Beta 1 is now available to testers and will be launched to the public this Friday, January 9, 2009.
Ballmer did not do a bad job considering this was his first opening keynote at a Consumer Electronics Show, that task was normally left to Microsoft founder, Bill Gates. The announcement about Windows 7 Beta 1 was not a shock to most, but Ballmer did his best to try and add a bit of excitement to the keynote.
Windows 7 already looks to be much better than its predecessor, Vista. Microsoft believes it to be the best Windows Operating system yet. From what we have learned Windows 7 will boot quicker, improve battery performance, and is more reliable than previous versions of Windows OS.
