Macworld Expo 2009 Recap: Apple’s news and iTunes changes
By: Peter Chubb | January 7, 2009 | Leave a CommentMacworld Expo 2009 got underway yesterday and Apple kicked things off with their keynote, most of us was left a bit disappointed as the new products that were launched were not what we was hoping. There were three major announcements, as well as changes to iTunes.
The first announcement was iLife 09, which features some great new apps, these include iPhoto ‘09, iMovie ‘09, GarageBand ’09, Apple have also added productivity features to iWork. The best two pieces of news were saved for the second half of the keynote.
There will be a new 17-inch MacBook Pro, the body has been given a makeover and is will be the slimmest 17-inch notebook on the market. Apple claim that the battery will last up to 8 hours, a huge claim, only time will tell. The other piece of big news was changes to iTunes.
There is to be a new pricing structure, and the iTunes Store will go DRM free. Those with an iPhone 3G will now be able to download songs from iTunes using 3G.
