Nintendo Wii 2: Release date and what’s needed in the upgrade

While many gamers would debate how much of a surprise the recent Nintendo success is, we see the Wii as a product that managed to tap into an audience that Sony and Microsoft never managed to reach.
Nintendo are selling Wii’s faster than stores can stock them and some may believe that they have no need to replace the Wii just yet, but not everyone has this view and Game Player have the view that Wii 1.5 / 2 will be coming in 2010.
Nintendo have shown with the DS and Gameboy that they like to tweak their products with updated versions for more innovation. The existing Wii is well behind the PS3 and Xbox 360 when it comes to hardware, so just what is needed in Wii 2?
Wii 2 will certainly need more high definition support and even support for DVD and more memory is welcomed, but what would you like to see added to the next Wii? Let’s know in the comments.
Also is Game Player on the mark for a 2010 release date, what’s your expectations? Most of this will depend on Wii 2 / 1.5 being an upgrade or an entirely new console.

if u make the new wii almost like how an x box and a ps3 is then i bet more people would buy it. have more online gaming games and have head sets so u can talk to people. make more sports games but make them more realistic instead of kiddy and so easy to play.. make wireless controlers too and it would be all good

it should just be an upgrade.because the wii cost alot of money so yea.and they should make more graphics.but no xbox of ps3 games n eeded
um if you didnt know there is halo for the pc look up the demo its actually very fun.
well,the wii is not all that.
i own a ps2 gamecube and a psp.
i’m fine with that.

i think the wii 2 shouldnt have friend codes because it takes too long just to play a couple of games with your mates. it should be a simple word or something. Also it needs more games like uncharted and halo that kind of stuff. i know they have to sign a deal with the publishers but nintendo can afford it. also i think motion control is good, but things like wii fit go a bit far with the excercise things, i sometimes just want to play a good shooting game with my friends.
