HP will be showing of their third-generation Netbook at CES 2009, the HP Mini 2140. The consumer versions of HP netbooks have become a huge hit, so now it is time for something different. HP are about to hit the business market with the HP Mini 2140, the main difference is that the netbook will not be made from plastic, instead it will have an aluminum construction and big keyboard.
There are updates to the Intel Atom CPU, as well as a number of upgrade options for the hard drive. The Mini 2140 netbook offers hard drives up to 160GB or an 80GB SSD. The LED screen measures 10-inches and has a 16:9 aspect ratio.
There are a number of key features that could help this netbook stand out against the rest, one such feature is the accelerometer for the hard drive, another great feature is a full ExpressCard/54 slot. The HP Mini 2140 netbook will be available later in January and prices will start at $499.
