Apple keynote 09: iTunes Plus, it’s DRM free
By: Peter Chubb | January 6, 2009 | Leave a CommentApple has announced their last new product at their keynote 09 at Macworld. The new product is just updates to iTunes, such as iTunes Plus which is DRM free. Phil does his best to sell the new product, even though he knows that we will love and use it.
He builds iTunes up by telling the audience that over 6 billion songs have been sold, and the fact that iTunes has the biggest media library. Schiller also tells us that Apple have now 75 million accounts with credit cards with iTunes.
There are three things new for iTunes in 2009, the first is the price. Songs have always cost $0.99, but Apple is adding some flexibility to the pricing structure, starting at $0.69 to $1.29. The second is iTunes Plus, which is DRM free and improved quality. The third new thing is with the iPhone, you can now visit the music store with 3G as well as Wi-Fi.
