Macworld 09 and how it affects small companies
By: Peter Chubb | January 5, 2009 | Leave a CommentMacworld 09 starts today in San Francisco and we will hopefully see a range of new Apple products. We have to wonder what products Apple will be launching in a time when we are all tightening our belts. It is no secret that Apple products are more expensive than that of their rivals, which will hit small companies harder now that they have cash flow problems.
Maybe this is why this will now be the last annual Macworld Conference and Expo, apple have already said that it is too expensive for them to keep putting on the event. If a huge corporation such as Apple is feeling the effects of a downturn in the economy, then just think how hard it is for those small to mid-size businesses.
Apple feel that they no longer need Macworld to reach consumers as well as business people, as their retail stores have been gaining popularity. It is said that Apple Stores has over 3.5 million visitors each week. For those who do not have an Apple Store near them, then they have to visit the online store, but Apple will have to offer some discounts if they want to have a better 2009.
