Lenovo W700ds ThinkPad: World’s first dual-screen notebook
By: Peter Chubb | January 5, 2009 | Leave a CommentLenovo have announced the world’s first dual-screen notebook, the new Thinkpad W700ds has a slide-out display as well as its main 17-inch screen. This new feature will duplicate a desktop dual-screen environment; you will need some deep pockets to own one though.
There are a few problems with the new Lenovo W700ds ThinkPad, the price is expensive, the battery life is poor and the device is on the heavy side. ThinkPad are known for launching new devices like this, think back to the butterfly keyboard, and I am afraid that this new device will be the same and not do that well.
The new Lenovo W700ds ThinkPad with its 17-inch main screen is 0.5-inches thicker than the W700, but the newer notebook has to house the second screen, this is 10.6-inches and slides out from the main screen. Prices start from $3700 and will exceed $6000.
