Blu-ray’s Future and Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas

CES 2009 is almost upon us and we have to wonder what will be the biggest news this year. Last year at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas the biggest news was not a new product coming to the market; it was the demise of one. Blu-ray won the format war, which spelt the death of HD DVD.

The death of HD DVD lies at the hands of Warner Brothers, when they decided to withdraw their support from the format, this handed the victory to Blu-ray. Have purchased a PS3 fairly recently, mostly for Blu-Ray and I have to say the quality doesn’t match my cheapo HD DVD Ep-30, has anyone else found this? Skin tones especially look very unnatural on the PS3. I’ve heard the PS3 BD player is a quality piece of kit but perhaps this isn’t the case and it is inferior to a dedicated player, much as the PS2’s DVD player was before it.
