Microsoft Windows 7 beta 1 spotted in the wild
By: Peter Chubb | December 29, 2008
The next operating system from Microsoft will be Windows 7, and the Beta version that we have heard so much about has now been spotted in the wild. The full release version of this OS is not expected to be ready for a launch until the 2009 holiday season, so is great to see that Microsoft are taking their time and to see how well people get on with the new operating system.
Early reviews of Windows 7 look to be good, the software is both solid and fast, but some of the features still have a few issues with them. One of the first things that you notice is a revamped taskbar, which is now easier to use if your screen has a higher resolution.
Microsoft showed off their new OS at last month’s Professional Developers Conference in Los Angeles, many there could not see that many changes with Windows 7 and Vista. We do hope that Windows 7 will be a vast improvement over Vista, and finally lure people away from the older OS, that is XP.
