Nintendo Wii hits highest one week sales

Nintendo have sold 1.7 million Wii units in just one week in the U.S., this is the highest one week sales for any games console. When looking at sales figures for each console, the Wii makes others like the Xbox 360 and the Sony PS3 look stupid.
In the same month Xbox 360 sales were 535,806, The PlayStation 3 was at 239,576 in the U.S. The handheld market was still good; yet again Nintendo has the higher sales with the Nintendo DS, 935,000, compared to just 298,000 for the Sony PSP.
Although we are in a global recession, it shows that Nintendo are still showing that their console sales are still popular. December should see even better games console sales, as across the globe stores are offering a range of consoles at a reduced price, just to try and get people through the doors or on their websites.
