
Samsung Google Android phone hits Sprint and T-Mobile in Q2
By: Peter Chubb | December 19, 2008 | 2 CommentsSamsung Electronics have announced that they will be launching their first Google Android phone in Q2 of 2009. The new cell phone that will run of the Android OS will be launched on two carriers, Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile USA in North America.
The news that Samsung are to launch a Google Android handset shows that the company is increasing their shares of the Smartphone market. This is also a blow to Nokia’s Symbian, MS Windows Mobile, as Samsung are joining a number of other phone makers and in the Android group.
Sprint have added 30 experts of Linux and Java to their list of workers, which now totals 80 who are working on speeding up the process of the Google phone launch. Samsung are thought to be launching a full touchscreen handset, much like their Omnia and Instinct phones.
