London 2012 Olympics: 3DTV from Sky
By: Peter Chubb | December 18, 2008 | Leave a CommentThe 2008 Beijing Olympics had to be one of the best games I have watched in recent years, who can forget that opening ceremony. The TV coverage from the BBC was also second to none, but Sky is hoping to transform how we watch the Olympics by offering us all the action in 3D with 3DTV from Sky.
Brian Lenz, head of product design and innovation over at Sky has said “There is a very good chance you’ll see the London Olympics in 3D.” he also confirmed one thing, that Sky will be covering the event, not sure where that leaves the BBC.
Sky have been showing off a demo of 3DTV over at their head office in West London, this does mean one thing, that we will need to upgrade our TV’s yet again in the future. Sky has admitted that the technology will not be here anytime soon, but they are gearing up from the shift from 2DTV to 3DTV.
