New Apple iPhone Applications at the App Store

There have been a number of times that we have been offered to a party, dinner or an event and asked to bring along a bottle of wine for the occasion. That is when you are in trouble, as you do not know what one bottle of wine is from the other. Who would have thought that the Apple iPhone would be able to come to the rescue with an application from the App Store.
Wine reviews are a superb application from Steve Saxon, which allows you to look up wine reviews on your Apple iPhone. The app costs just $4, and could be the best $4 you have ever spent if you are always being offered out to functions.
There is also number of new applications made available from the App Store for the festive season, including iMenorah from Jutanabet. The app lets you light a candle with the touch of your finger. iDreidle for Chanukah is another festive app which comes just in time for the festival of lights.

Not to “bash” a developer or their application, but Wine Reviews is not the best wine app. It only has 1 review from 1 user who gave it 1 star.
However, it makes perfect sense to have access to wine information on the iphone, for the exact use-case you mention above.
The good news: there are many great wine apps now on the iphone. Here are my three favorites:
1. Cor.kz - searches the cellatracker web site. Great content, but no way to save favorites on the phone.
2. Drync Wine - searches many databases, nice interface, virtual cellar, buy from phone, but fewer filtering and search options.
3. Wine Snob - this is for “expert” wine drinkers and has great wine log features but no search.
