Will Google Chrome get more users thanks to Internet Explorer Problems?
By: Peter Chubb | December 16, 2008 | 3 CommentsGoogle Chrome is a free web browser that is hoped to take the fight to other browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Google Chrome is based on the WebKit layout engine and application framework.
The beta version was launched for Windows in September, and as of October already had 1 percent of the market share. A more stable public version of Google Chrome was released on December 11.
Google Chrome could see their market share increase over the coming days, a direct result of the Internet Explorer Problems, which we discussed in an earlier post. Read full details. Analysts have already warned that users should stop using IE and should use an alternative, such as Google Chrome.
We are not certain how much increase in browser market share that Google Chrome will see, but you can be certain that they will have more than 1 percent for the month of December. Internet Explorer’s share is about 80 percent, but that will fall dramatically if Microsoft does not fix the security problem fast.
Will you be moving away from IE, if so who will you move too?
