Sony PSP-4000 coming in late 2009: Still no PSP2

Sony has announced that they are to refresh their PlayStation Portable, by launching the PSP-4000 late in 2009. A true successor to the PSP, the PSP2 will not launch for a long time yet, which has left many PSP fans a bit disappointed.

The PSP-3000 launched in October, so many assume that the 4000 model will launch in October 2009. The 2000 series, which was the first slim-lite PSP model launched back in September 2007, so there is a pattern with the time frame.

Sony is thought to be working on the PSP successor; developers are already working on the games for the PSP2. As yet there is no solid proof, but as long as there are rumors, there is always hope which is what keeps gamers going.
