In what seems like a lifetime, the iPhone Dev-Team has at long last done it, yes they have finally managed to unlock the Apple iPhone 3G. As yet the hack has not been released, but should be released on December 31.
To be able to unlock your iPhone 3G you will need a baseband of 2.11.07 or earlier, once the iPhone Dev-Team drop the hack this will then result in the iPhone 3G being free from carrier oppression, such as AT&T in the U.S. and O2 in the UK.
The iPhone Dev-Team will package the app, which had been codenamed “yellowsn0w” — into a PwnageTool and QuickPwn app. Just remember one thing, once Apple updates the firmware on the iPhone 3G, then this whole cat and mouse game will begin once again.

We will be certainly looking forward to the release, as well as to what the new SDK has to offer…
